Never shy of using real life headlines for inspiration, Law & Order: Criminal Intent recently turned to Broadway for its latest storyline. As previously announced, the series took a cue from the highly publicized troubles of Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark to craft an episode about a visionary Broadway director whose latest mythological project, Icarus, comes under investigation when the musical's lead actor (a sitcom star making his Broadway debut) is killed. Tony winner Cynthia Nixon signed up to channel original Spider-Man director Julie Taymor as Icarus helmer Amanda Rawlins. In the clip below, Nixon speaks at a memorial service for the fallen cast member as the musical's other stars perform the original song, "This is Hubris." Also, keep an eye out for Broadway veteran Matt Cavenaugh. Take a look at the Law & Order Spidey send-up below!
